At this meeting, we will discuss the MIDNIGHT MAYHEM event details and have time for Q & A. This meeting is optional for parents.
HOW WILL I KNOW MY STUDENT IS SAFE?
The safety of your child is our main focus. All activities throughout the night will be fully supervised. A group of fully committed staff members and dozens of adult and parent volunteers from the church will be present at all venues. These adults have a vested interest in the safety of all students attending. Our adult leader to student ratio is 1:10. All leaders volunteering throughout the night are required to have a background check completed. Every participant, student and leader, will receive a color-coded MIDNIGHT MAYHEM t-shirt that will be worn throughout the night of the event to be easily identified.
WHAT DOES MY $65 PAY FOR?
Your $65 will cover the costs of coach bus transportation, an MIDNIGHT MAYHEM t-shirt and the price of admission to the various destinations throughout the night. Scholarships are not available for this event. The $65 registration fee must be paid at the time of registration.
HOW DO I ENSURE MY STUDENT WILL BE ON THE SAME BUS AS HIS/HER FRIENDS?
Students are encouraged to register together and AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. If you are a last-minute registrant, your choices will be limited. During online registration, you will be able to select your bus number. If your student desires to be on the same bus as a friend, please make sure they communicate which bus their friend has or will select. Buses fill up on a first come, first served basis. Middle School and High School buses will not be with each other throughout the night.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the size of this event, there will be no switching buses after your online registration is complete.
WHAT SHOULD MY STUDENT BRING?
When packing for MIDNIGHT MAYHEM, we encourage students to bring only what they may need for the night’s activities, such as snacks and drinks. Keep in mind that no belongings can be left on the buses while visiting venues. It is also important to bring any medicine that may be needed throughout the night, such as inhalers or other medications. Please notify a leader at check-in if your student has routine or emergency medication. Due to the nature of the activities throughout the night, it is important that all students wear socks and close-toed shoes. Students may bring their cell phones; however, we are not liable for lost/broken phones or any other items that students bring to the event. Food will not be provided during the night, so it is recommended that students bring extra money with them if they choose to purchase snacks and drinks at the various locations throughout the night. A bag check will be included during check-in to ensure students safety.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY STUDENT GETS HURT/INJURED AT THIS EVENT?
At each location there will be a site coordinator that will handle all injuries. In case of injury, the site coordinator will contact the parent/guardian of the student as well as seek further medical attention if needed. Each site coordinator will have the emergency contact information provided to us during registration.
WILL MY STUDENT BE GIVEN ENERGY DRINKS THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT?
Though some students do come to MIDNIGHT MAYHEM with energy drinks, the MIDNIGHT MAYHEM team will not provide them. Water, soda and other drinks will be available for purchase at the venues throughout the night.
CAN MY CHILD COME FOR JUST A PORTION OF THE NIGHT?
Unfortunately, not. If your student registers for this event, please understand it is an all-night event. For the safety of our students we cannot have parents coming to pick their child up in the middle of the night.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THE WEATHER DOESN’T COOPERATE ON THE NIGHT OF THE EVENT?
The safety and health of our students and leaders is THE priority in all decisions throughout the MIDNIGHT MAYHEM evening. Because of this, all venue locations for this year’s event are indoors. The MIDNIGHT MAYHEM team reserves the right to make any and all decisions concerning cancellation of this event due to inclement weather or any other issues that could arise whereby the safety of the students is in question. We will make our best effort to provide your child with an outstanding experience including all of the advertised activities. If for any reason the activities must be cancelled due to inclement weather or other conditions, there will be no refunds.
